About the corpus

Each entry begins as an off-air recording of an international AM shortwave broadcast, captured through a remote receiver at a known frequency, time and location. The audio is transcribed automatically into timestamped passages, in the language actually spoken on air.

What you can search

Plain keywords match anywhere in the transcripts. Quotation marks force an exact phrase. Results can be narrowed by language, station and date, and every match links back to the second of audio it came from.

Asking questions

The question mode retrieves the passages closest in meaning to your question, across languages, and summarises them with citations pointing back to the recordings.

Limits

Transcription of shortwave audio is imperfect: fading, interference and accents produce errors. Treat every passage as an indication and check it against the audio before quoting it.
